Most associations are already using AI. The policy usually comes later, if it comes at all.
If you've sat in a staff meeting where someone asked "are we even allowed to put that in ChatGPT (or Copilot, Claude, etc.)?" and nobody had a clear answer, this session is for you.
We will walk through a practical, association-specific AI policy framework you can actually adapt, not a generic corporate template that ignores how associations work. We will cover the parts that matter most for membership organizations: when gen AI tool use is authorized, protecting member data, governing speaker and certification content, deciding when AI use needs to be disclosed, and setting up the human oversight that keeps your association accountable.
Dr. Cathy Lada brings the practitioner lens on building and rolling out AI guidance inside an association. Attorney Mark Franco brings the legal lens on data privacy, intellectual property, and the fine print most policies miss.
You will leave with a clear sense of what your policy should include, which decisions only leadership can make, and where you might need legal counsel at the table.
Format: 45 minutes of content, plus 15 minutes of live Q&A.
After this session, you will:
